Resumen

El desarrollo y evolución de las naciones que integran en el día de hoy la UE no podría entenderse sin el fenómeno de la inmigración. A pesar de ello, los estudios sobre este asunto son escasos y de alcance muy limitado debido, entre otros motivos, a la dificultad para obtener información fiable y homogénea. Precisamente, el objeto del presente trabajo es analizar a la población inmigrante en el contexto de la Unión Europea aterrizando en uno de los aspectos más polémicos del fenómeno: la integración de estas personas en el mercado de trabajo. Mediante un modelo de regresión logística –aplicado a la última Encuesta Europea de Condiciones de Trabajo–, se ponen de manifiesto las condiciones laborales que caracterizan a la población inmigrante en comparación con los ocupados nacionales.
